No one comes into office as an expert on every issue they’ll face. That’s not a weakness — it’s just the reality of public service. What sets great leaders apart is their commitment to learning. When elected officials invest in understanding housing policy, zoning, and the real barriers families face, they’re better equipped to make decisions that create communities where everyone has access to the housing they need.
