Education

We lead the nation in educating local land use leaders in housing strategies and community decision-making. The Pace LULC in partnership with the HAC undertake numerous strategic workshops, housing policy seminars, and training.

Municipal officials, civic leaders, architects, planners and others can benefit from our award-winning Land Use Leadership Alliance (LULA), a custom-tailored in-depth training program. Among some of the issues covered by our experts:

  • How to identify appropriate sites for affordable housing
  • How to determine which sites are feasible based on zoning, land use
  • Technical expertise in the funding, financing, and feasibility of creating affordable housing developments.

In partnership with the HAC, the LULA has been designed specifically on the topic of affordable housing. It has included participants from a variety of backgrounds, including, municipal officials, community leaders, religious and human service sectors, attorneys, planners, civic leaders and housing developers.

Curriculums include land use practices, funding for affordable housing, fair housing, site and financial analyses, and ways to build inclusive and sustainable communities. Skilled facilitators conduct breakout exercises and guide group discussions.
